Interesting I think it would actually look better with the F-22 wings than it does in the concept art.

Hmm, nice!  The wings are very close to those from a Saro SR.177.

New to me, looks similar to some MBB designs that preceded Eurofighter.

Wrong, it looks similar to some *Dornier* studies like N/D-102 for the TKF-90, which may be to do with the technical assistance they were getting from Dornier. N/D-102 was a Northrop/Dornier joint project, hence the Hornet DNA that seems to have crept in there

Yes but how true is it, looks more like somebody playing with flight-sim models and then passing it off on wikipedia as real without any cross reference links to valid aviation sites. Nice Whiff but thats about it till we see more valid confirmation.

I made enquiries with Ricardo Caballero in Buenos Aires:

A friend of mine and a Military Academy Classmate was an Aeronautical Engineer involved with the SAIA 90 aircraft. The acronym SAIA means "Sistema de Armas Integrado Argentino" or Argentine Integrated Weapons System.  As I was told, SAIA 90 included high tech from Dornier especially in the fields of composite materials and supercritical wings. The IA-63 Pampa has a supercritical wing designed by Dornier at FMA facilities in Córdoba. The Pampa is a high tech advanced trainer that was designed as an initial step to develop high tech industrial capabilities in preparation for SAIA 90.  I was also advised that the Israeli IAI provided assistance with the capabilities they had developed from the Lavi fighter as well as with landing gear engineering.


The SAIA 90 aircraft would have been a great replacement for all the fighters in the Skyhawk and Mirage families in Argentina. It would have been a simple aircraft to operate. The FMA people were very optimistic about SAIA 90.


It would have been interesting to see the SAIA 90 flying!!!!!


I guess we can craft the wings of an F-22 onto an F-18A. That would be a fun Whatif kit!!!!

I think those wings look more like Rafale or Eurofighter wings. Would fit better than monstrous F-22 wings

Oh i dont doubt the project existed but i do find the imagary suspect when they only appear to be from a flight sim and appear to be a F-17 or F-18 with a revised wing, no artist impressions, no manufacturers model and the only links relate to similar wikipedia types quoting the same flight sim sites.

Of course it makes a nice whif and one simple to do but in terms of a wikipedia entry i would prefer some more authentic facts and images.
