Here's the problem:

With ground school and a USAF GB build on the go I don't think I'll have time for the 1/48 JASDF F-111AJ that I originally intended to build. Instead should I build:

1. 1/48 JASDF Jag in the ground attack scheme worn by the F-1 or

2. 1/48 JASDF Jag in the sea attack scheme worn by the F-2/F-1 or

3. 1/48 JASDF F-16 in the sea attack scheme or

4. 1/48 JASDF Tornado GR.5 (based off the F.3 airframe for better areodynamics) in the ground attack scheme.

Any thoughs and opinions would be most welcomed!!

What if a F-16 inprovement beyond F-2
Bigger wings,
Vectored nozzles,
longer fuselage to increase tankage,
etc...
Will die without understanding this world.

I'd go with the Jag in the blue scheme that their F-2's and F-4EJ's wear.  Very attractive.

Me, I just dug out the kit I'm going to JASDF up:  Heller 1/72 YF-22.

I'm thinking canards...
I exist to pi$$ others off!!!

:D If I got the Jag route the load out will be:

Overwing AAM-3s, 2 gasbags, 2 ASM-1s and a clean centerline.

If you are pressed for time, I would say go for the F-16, based purely on the fact that there are decent kits out there in 1/48 (Hasegawa, Tamiya) whereas the Jag and Tornado you're limited to Airfix and Airfix/Italeri.

ie, not conducive to quick and easy builds ;)

Tell me about it! I took one of my Airfix Jag/Tonka F.3 combo boxes out, looked inside and nearly fainted at the amount of work that needs to go in to make a decent kit...

Academy F-16C here I come!

Ok guys screw the F-16 :) I saw Sential's AWESOME F-8J, I've already got the 'pit painted and the intake sanded and sprayed white :) pics to come when I have a connection at home...

Cool B)  I think Radish did a Japanese one several years ago using the old Italeri/Esci kit in 1/48 (along with a Canadian and Israeli one).  There are even pics on here somewhere!
