QuoteGood luck Richard, I think a CD is a great idea.

Quote...A sheet of Royal Egyptian Air Force markings would also go over well in my Whiffing book.

I second Upnorth's suggestion. I've been looking for 1/72nd post-WW2 Egyptian markings for some time.

Cheers Steve,

another for Egyptian markings!

QuoteHi Richard, i think that in the not too distant future instructions in a disc format will be common place with kit manufacturers. it used to be the box art from the likes of Roy Cross [Airfix] and John Steele [Monogram] that caught the eye and pocket money of buyers, but as times have changed so has what is needed to sell a product. these days the hobby is made up of more discerning people with more disposable income.for instance i have one of your kiwi Skyhawk sheets,3 very good [and expensive] referance books numerous magazines with the appropriate articles,a photo etch set and of course the kit itself. the sum total for all this is $198 .... ,almost half of this has been spent on referance material.why? simply because one day soon i wish to build my 'mona lisa' and to do this i need good accurate referance. do i have a problem spending this much on a model aeroplane?.. well no ,not at all. would i be happy spending less on the best decal sheet available that includes a disc with the same referance that is in my expensive little book colection? .........
Richard it is a great idea, and while unfortunately the proceeds from such a venture may only cover costs with a little left over[on a good day] could that be outweighed by the satisfaction that would come knowing that you have produced what i am sure would be one of the finest products on the market?
What would i like to see would be your profiles specific to the sheet of course. and a slide show of a build, from paint to final clear coat.[talking about the Skyhawks in particular here]
Now if i could put in an ask, would you consider doing the Skyhawk sheets in 1/72nd?
With the upcoming release of the Wirraway and Boomerang in '72 and '48 would you look at these?
and finaly what i think a lot of people would like to see would be a decent generic RAAF/ RNZAF sheet with roundels, fin flashes and serial numbers.
At the end of the day its your choice,i realy hope you go ahead with the decals at least. i wish you all the best .   Steve.
Thanks Steve,

certainly some interesting ideas there. The Kiwi Skyhawks in 72nd is a very possible reality, stay tuned!   As for the Wirraway and Boomerang, not really my cup of tea at the moment. RAAF/RNZAF generic sheet, that's a possibility too! :P

As for bringing out the finest product on the market. From past experience I can honestly say that that is an impossibility. One can simply NEVER please everyone. Believe it or not I got complaints that my Kiwi Skyhawk sheets had too many choices on them, also that they were too expensive!  :banghead: People like that don't bother me any more, I will continue to do the best I can, some will appreciate my effort for what it is, others will remain clueless.

Richard.

I'll add my vote for the generic RAAF/RNZAF 1/72 sheet.  I definitely want to do some of their Harriers from the Harrier SIG "What-If" newsletter of some years ago, though with a few twists as upgrades.

The Boomerang and Wirraway are pretty well already covered. PD Decals did two sheets for the Boomerang in 1/72 and 1/48. They're OOP but the Vic Hobby Centre still had heaps of them. Red Roo Models has at least one Boomerang sheet and you can bet they'll do more and some Wirraway decals when the MPM kits are released.

Are there any Indian modelling sites/forums? If there are, then doing an Indian sheet and selling via them might be a nice little money earner. 1 billion Indians is a potentially lucrative market. Once you are rich, you can spend all that profit on making low volume sheets for us
