QuoteWhat happens to Brussels in this scenario? :D  :D
Divided in 2 inside wollonia? Hey, whiff potential! The Brussels airlift! The ____ curtain! The Brussels wall! :P

if it was up to my father, next to the independence of flanders ans wallonia, Brussels would become a neutral zone or country, just like Monaco, Andora or Lesotho (witch is smacked down in the middle of S. Africa  ^_^

 That's one impressive diorama. And in 1/72, no less!

Thanks to all for your comments!

first of all, like Nils I wish to say that I'm not an independentist. I'm Belgian, and proud to be (even if I'm from far less proud of our politicians...). My goal when building that diorama was to show that even if politicians of both side are thinking that "the other community is responsible of all the problems", people in majority don't think like them - So, that's why the crewmen are playing a game...

Nils, you made a great job with your "what-if's" about Flemish and Wallonian forces! I particularily like the Aero L-39; good job! And your decal sheet is really amazing. Should it be possible to obtain a copy? Can be very funny to build a Wallo Rafale and a Flemish Typhoon. I can in return give you the PDF file of my tank flags, but the quality is not as good as yours...

...Of course, due to the cost of those aircrafts, maybe both Flanders and Wallonia would be equipped with Gripens... Even if an airforce is costly, I don't think Wallonia would not have one.

Oh, I forget for Brussels: in case of separation, can be part of Wallonia, or better like Nils said: an independent "county" of Europe...

Greetings from Belgium
Daniel.

Great concept, great backstory, great execution (especially painting those figures in 1/72).

Of course, you know the solution for Belgium?  Make English your official language  :P

Ah, fine then! Lets call it Europa then! Capital city of the European Union! Armed forces: All of the german, danish, austrian, czech, french, polish, british, swedish, italian, spanish, portuguese, hungarian, dutch, wollonian, flanderish, and a bunch of eastern european nations armed forces (and all EU members i forgot), aka the EU-Army!

This is just over the top!  Wow.  Can't imagine the patience you must have, not to mention incredibly steady hands for painting like this in 1:72.

I'm suitably humbled!

Thanks all for your kind comments and humour!  ;)

In the case of Brussels being an European free city, we can also imagine a little local army, formed to urban warfare... And equipped with some material like Hummers, or ATF Dingo II from the "ex-Belgian" stocks...

...And finally we have also in Belgium a zone, in Wallonia, near the German border, where people are German-speaking (Eupen, Malmedy, Sankt Vith). Could also be equipped with German light material (Luchs, Fennek...)
