R-head,

I'm wondering if that would've made any difference.  If I recall correctly, it was the targeting system which made the York so damn awful.  The only way the GE machine woulda been better is if it used a _different_ targeting system and software.  I'm not so sure that it did...

That thing would be flat out wicked with 30mm AHEAD ammunition, combined with something like RIM-116 RAM

Point taken, but if it weren't for the asinine "Not Invented Here" mentality of the US DOD, we'd have bought Gepards and the issue would have been tabled.  :dum:
