Me & the missus were up visiting her sister at the weekend, she works as an entertainer at a holiday camp up at Flamborough, a few miles north of Bridlington.  There's a lifeboat station there, as Flamborough Head is a particularly treacherous headland & they were having a fund raising day on the bank holiday, so we thought we'd take a look.  There were the usual bric a brac stalls & rides for the kiddies, but just as we got there, a Sea King buzzed over our heads!  It turned out they were doing a rescue demo with the lifeboat & we'd just turned up at the right time!  Enjoy the pics!

The life boat is Atlantic 75 RIB inshore lifeboat, 'Elizabeth Jane Palmer'.  The wokka is a Westland Seaking HAR.3 of 'E' Flight, 202 Sqn RAF, based at Leconfield, near Beverley in East Yorkshire.  Some of the pics are a bit samey, but Cap'n'll enjoy looking at the Sea King at least!

Nice......what a beautiful machine. Long live the Sea King ! The 8th pic down does it for me....just awesome composition. Nice work on the camera !

Judging by a few of the pics, looks like it flew right over your head ! Awesome stuff. To right about the tug as well, sure does look like something out of this world ! I bet that would be fun to take out for a spin in the back country.

Cheers guys, yeah that No.8 is nice, more good look than good judgement though, I'm not the worlds best photographer!  I think if I backed off a bit rather than taking at full zoom, I'd get some nicer pics.  There is a higher quality selection as well, maybe I'll try that next time as well.

Oh yeah...just beautiful. And you can tell by all the folk standing about how much an aeroplane like that is under-apreciated !
