Just an easy build to help me convalesce. I picked up this Airfix kit for 3 quid in ModelZone in London. Not a patch on the Tamiya 1/12 scale bike kits but you can't go wrong for the money. The decals were complete rubbish and disintegrated on contact with water hence the IJN option.

Nice choice of colours by the IJN - British Racing Green ;)

Oh yes, now i know what to do to my airfix motorbike!

Nice work again, Simon. Makes me want to shell out for a Tamiya Ducati and put "sand and spinach" over it.

Very cool! It wouldn't happened to be the kind of bike you took your spill on, would it?

Looks sweet.
So, extrapolating this thought a bit, if the IJN team were loosing a race, would they resort to Kamikaze tactics to deny victory to the other teams?

In motoGP terms they call that 'pulling a Pedrosa' ! Oh wait a minute, that's only if you're racing your own teammate.......

Neat idea ! Looks like a little 250......did it come with a figure as well ? About the only other thing those Airfix kits are good for !

CANADA KICKS arse !!!!

They were both Yamahas but this is a YZF-M1 racing bike.

I got my bike back from the insurance company this week and it is just a pile of bits that looks like an unfinished kit bash. The engine looks OK so maybe a 1,000cc 170hp kart could be my next project.
