Well I have had the urge to build within hours of coming home from my knee surgery monday.so I pulled the little table next to my bed closer and talked my roomie into grabbing a few things from the workbench.I'm building a different sort of Luft 46 project I had heard that if the Hitler assanation had succeded that some of the german high command wanted to surrender to the Western allies and ally themselves against russia. this is the story behind my horten 229 build. here are the pics the kit is the Revell Germany 1/72 kit

And heres what I got done today

A Horten flying wing with mottled camo and D-Day invasion stripes? I'm bowled over by your imagination Panzer! I can't wait to see how this one turns out!

Modeling can be such good therapy.  My wife's had two knee surgeries over the past thre years, and I've seen how fristrated she got stuck in bed for for several days.  Hopefully some styrene therapy will help the time fly for you.

That's a VERY interesting Alt History you're pusuing there...
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Looking good! Hope the modelling helps with  a speedy recovery.

Thanks for all the well wishes and Compliments guys, I'm healing up pretty well but will be continuiously sore for a bit.I really don't like the way the pain meds make me feel I'm groggy all day,BUT! I have the landing gear on and am now planning on my decal options.A stick with the WWII Balkenkruz B go with american stars C the modern style "Maltese" German cross
any opinions I'm leaning more to one of the 2 cross options

on to the pics

As always ENJOY!!! ;)

Do you have any W.W. II RAF roundels in the stash, Panzer? I think late-war RAF markings would really make folks do a double-take!

Otherwise, my vote is for post-war German crosses and maybe the black-red-gold flag on the engines.

Looking killer! I can't wait to see it with the markings on.

Way to go Hoppy!

Germam post war crosses.

Love the model by the way!!!!!!

I have that baby in the stash with the full etched cockpit set to go in it. Maybe I should pull it out and fondle it.

The model I mean! :P
Get this Cheese to sick bay!

Hiya Panzer

Just love the invasion stripes and hope y0u're recovering nicely. Stars and stripes for markings, please.

I wonder if you could've talked you way into bringing your compressor into the hospital  and doing some airbrushing in the ward!
