i started building this aircraft about 2 weeks ago, but forgot to post it.

Back History:

In 1928, the US NAvy was looking for a seaplane attack aircraft to escort rescue seaplanes in combat situations. as during the USA-Mexico war of 1925, shot down US pilots who crached at sea were largly unable to be rescued as the Mexican Navy planes always shot down the US SAR planes who were on route. so the plan to create an escort fighter for the rescuërs was a good idea at the time.

Boeing, who was currently building the P-26 Peashooter for the USAAC, mada a proposal for a modified P-26, of witch the spatted landinggear would be replaced by floats. the Navy liked the idea and placed an order for 120 of these aircraft. the aircraft was just what the navy wanted, it was relyable, robust and had a decent range. the aircraft kept serving the navy until 1939, when they were replaced with the P-40 floatplane version.

the Model:

model is a 1/72 revell P-26A, modified with floats from an airfix auster kit.
color sheme is expected to be same as the Conwing Seaduck (from talespin) in yellow with orange trim  B)

here's what she currently looks like  B)

Interesting Nils, but...1928?
Boeing didn't begin design work on what became the P-26 until September, 1931.

ladies and gentlemen, she's done. only thing is that ive changed the markings, instead of a US navy bird, she has now been drafted into the Khemedi Coast guard as a light resque plane
