The real PR Meteors had a much less impressive camera fit: this makes me wonder about fitting a similar setup to an NF.14 airframe and converting it back to a single-seater. Since PRs don't carry armament, you could have a back-seat tank, a belly tank, underwing tanks, outer-wing integral tanks (in place of the guns) and Reaper-style tip tanks too. That's a fair bit of fuel...

Actually, a less draggy solution might be to fit double-sized tip tanks on F.8 outer wing panels and leave the underwing tanks off entirely.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

You could fit longer wings too...........  ;) ;D

Yes, but I'm talking about low-level tactical recce with batteries of oblique cameras, not very-high altitude strategic work, hence the suggestion of F.8 clipped wings.

Will die without understanding this world.

IIRC, someone on this board has built something similar, just with swept F-86 wings.

IIRC, someone based it on an F-86 with an F-80 nose...
And made a great job of it. ;)

Reading a history of the Pakistan Air Force.  They used the T-33, of course, but in the late '40s they were offered the F-80.  Then in the late '50s they thought about the F-94; went with the 104, obviously.

Lockheed must have accidently left a briefcase of cash somewhere.....
More likely it was Lockheed being told how much they were going to have to pay to
get the sale, and if anybody thinks things have changed, they're kidding themselves.
