Great stuff Brian

So ugly it is love at first site.

I'm afraid that some time in the future we are going to have to have an ugly aircraft group build

Well, this is certainly outstanding and extremely believable but, in order to truly appreciate it, could you please show the less-knowledgible of us (read: me) what the origin kit/aircraft would look like so we can see the mods you made?

Also, that handpainted insignia: is this a growing trend?  Are you and Eddie putting TwoBobs et al out of business?  Are the upright lines in the "IX" on the insignia purposely supposed to look like ground-mounted searchlights hunting for nightbombers?  That's what the lines look like to me.  Cool.

That's the kit I transported?  Holy poo-poo (with an english accent) BdB, that's killer!!!!!

Very, very nice and an excellent backstory.  I really can see your B7B in Panama........

I'm really pleased you guys like this project. Your encouragement inspires me to no end. Here's what an actual Douglas YB-7 looks like:

Here's the 9th Bomber Squadron's insignia:

I fudged things a bit and went with the overall black version out of simplicity. It seems the gray and black versions were often used interchangeably.

Great job! Gull wings are awesome, and that's a great back story.

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Thanks for the insights, Brian.  I loaded your model pics on one tab so I could flip back and forth b/w the "real" one and yours.  Yours is by far the more interesting of the two.  That Bomber Sqn insignia is very clever, eh?  Searchlight beams!  How daring for a bomber squadron: like painting bullseyes on one's aircraft in a way.
