You mean "Magic Alex" er, "Paintings by Alexander"?

I'm not sure what happened to Alexander but if he's still around, he's got to be pretty old by now as he was no youngster when he was on TV.

"Und vee use die palette knife like DAS!!!"

In High School, we swore that our Commercial Art instructor was that Alexander-fellow.  I think his first name was even Alex.  But he was ready at any time to friggin' stick you with that palette knife: "Vat?!  You sink YOU should be allowt to uze za zhilkskreen for zuch propaganda teeeeeee-zhirts?!"

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

One of my painting courses was completely devoted to that style of painting...
"Fire it in!"  ...and then scrape it off again. A painting every twenty three minutes. Try that on a student budget.

Imagine that Alexander dude teaching people how to build models...or better yet, whiffs! ;D

It's amazing what tricks you discover when pressured like that, though.  Fast, instinctive drawing/painting alway seems to look better.

My teachers all poo-poo'ed the Bob Ross school of painting, and I still have a hard time taking it seriously.  HOWEVER, far be it from me to criticize anyone's methods (having been painting for some nearly 15 years, and selling next to nothing).

Anyhow, that's a great little tutorial Matrix.  I enjoy your work immensely.

Thank you noxioux,

My next backdrop will have a bit more detail in it and may include a hanger or other airfield buildings in it. That project won't happen for at least another year, this year I will work a little bit more on my photobase and maybe finish up some ground vehicles and more figures. I have some vacation time coming up in a few weeks and plan to make the most of it.
The new Dora books I expected to have by early this summer will actually not be released until the fall, so the models I had planned to build later this year (all Fw 190s)have changed and I will now have time for other projects.
