Hey there everyone. Figured I'd show what's been eating up all my time lately. As you guys know, I'm into slot cars. 1/43 scale in particular. Since I finally got my track built and wired up, I've been tinkering about with some cars. This is one of my builds. First off, I love vintage road racers. Can-Am, F1, Indy, Le Mans, just love 'em all. Here's where I'm drawing my inspiration:

And here's mine:






This was built from a $5 set Ferrari F50 body with the roof cut away. A little bit of CA and some TLC to hold it toether. As you can see in the last pic, I still have some PSR to take care of, but nothing too serious. The final paint scheme will be all over yellow with the number 15 on white meatballs. Thanks for looking, and I'll post pics of her all buttoned up.

She's yellow! I was proud of myself for getting the PSR done in only 2 sittings. Paint is Krylon Fusion. It still needs a good wetsand with 1000 then 1500, maybe 2000 if I feel like it. Then decals, a few brushpainted details, clear, mounting, build an interior...........

Looking good.  Yellow is the only 'other' color a Ferrari should ever be shown in.  I remember a quote from Automobile magazine from when I was a kid, "Everything from Italy should be red, fast and wicked".

So, how do you approach these things?  are you building the interior at the same time you work on the body, or is it a more linear process?

First of all, thanks for the comments, Noxioux. I'm holding off build the interior because of chassis clearance concerns. Basically, it's only a half-tray style, the floorpan will sit on top of the motor. So yea, I guess it is a linear process, at least with this one. Basically, the body will be totally finished, then I'll use the front screw post and tubing on the rear tires to set the body ride height. Then I'll run beads of hot glue along the edges to hold them together. After all that, then I can do the interior. I'll keep everyone updated.

No problem Juan Raton Aullador. You are the master of the ship-in-a-bottle interior builds. I warn you now, it's not going to be that detailed, just enough to cover the working bits. Maybe a seat and a driver later. But I will post step by step pics.
