Great plane, but it has the tiniest, most vertigo inspiring ladder up the side i've ever been on!

As you might imagine, my 5 year old son wasn't bothered by that in the slightest..

B777LR

Wheels look  like they are mode from concrete...

deathjester

Ballast!  It is a naval fighter, after all...!

I think they are to keep the [very] expensive tyres in good shape.

seavixenxj494

hehe the wheels have covers over them becasue the weather can damage them and as death jester said these things are not cheap !! lol  ;D

GTX

The first photo looks like the aircraft is in a all grey low viz scheme - I know its not, but still gets one thinking...a modernised Sea Vixen in service today, all grey.

Regards,

Greg
All hail the God of Frustration!!!

Could slim the nose down a little to show a more modern radar, fit a cannon or two, arm it with Sparrow and Sidewinder, and maybe give it RB199 engines...and canards!

seavixenxj494

hey nice to see some interest guys lol if you ever are heading down bruntingthopre way let me know and i will meet you there and show you round a bit , i think from the points you guys have given so far ........ I CAN FEEEL A WHAT IF COMING ON ANYONE THINKING THE SAME ???? just have to be a bit different with the engines we dont wanna melt the booms of it haha !

all the best

steve.

Per Ardua Ad Astra

hey fallenpheonix , if only we had the money and spares to keep the vixen going for that long , alough she well never fly she is beeing restored buy the team and myself to be a fast taxi aircraft to display at the open days at bruntingthopre , alough she is a good contender for the position of flight as she has very little airframe hours on it , 1250 i think is the approx number, we still have a long stretch a head of us but things are coming on quite well.

Cheers Steve

Captain Canada

Awesome shots, Steve.....you're one lucky bugger ! Love that second pic, all ratty and worn like that. I can just see her up on the deck waiting to fight !

Does anybody make a 48th scale kit of that bird ?
