It's personal prejudice, but I'd rather do something similar, even if 'twas totally conjectural, to the Hunter (likely an outboard pivot design like the Su-17) than the Swift as I just prefer the looks of the Hunter.

Often thought of that myself Evan, TSR Joe sent me a copy of the actual proposed sketch so I could see how they planed to deal with the undercarriage

Actually the Swift proposal makes quite a bit of sence when put into context.

Vickers Supermarine were at the time proposing varios aircraft utilising Barnes Wallis VG technology, and the Swift would have made a nice
technology demonstrator for the likes of the Vickers 583 then being mooyed as a Sea Vixn replacement.

Just a pity there are no readily available decent swift kits to use as a basis  :banghead:

If anyone does this don't forget to include Tiltman Langley Laboratories in the backstory somewhere, they did so much work with the Swift that they were practically partners with Supermarine.

The Hawk/Testors one isn't all that bad, but it takes a fair bit of work. Wheels up is definitely the easier option with it. I haven't had my hands on the Czech resin one.

Built one of those myself Dave, did a bunch of detail work on it and it looks just fine.  One thing I've noticed with Hawk kits (and I've a few of them), they're mostly of prototypes but have been labelled as a certain 'production' type on the box.

The Rareplanes vacform Swift FR5 was an excellent kit, but I'm not sure if Hannants re-released it when they took over the moulds. Anyone know?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
