Conversion of the Lindberg Jolly Roger to something like a sixth rate frigate of the Napoleonic Wars of the Royal Navy ( al la HMS Surprise)

It looks real rough right now but hopefully it will come out to be acceptable...the stern and quarter galleries are scratch built from stock styrene, balsa quarter round and the "crest" came off a button...

Just about anything and everything belongs here.

I always hope for the best.

It's great to see a sailing ship here on What-If, Mr Rugby. I'm looking forward to a shot of those navy cannon.

My hat's off to you for the wonderful carving and paintwork!

Does this mean YOU can teach me how to do rigging?  I'm starting easy (I think) with a 1:18 RoG "Laser" sailboat/dinghy but the destructions are very vague.  Please show whatever you can about the nasty business of rigging a sailing ship!

Avast !  Another fellow sailorman!  Yeeehaaa !  Yep, bring on those rigged ships of old, when men were made of iron, and the ships of wood, rather than made of wood and sailing in iron.

Barry, here are some links to web pages that have something on rigging:

As mentioned, this place is a clearinghouse for any and all lunacy.  Does a sailboat belong?  No more than a Spitfire with spats, HMS Queen Elizabeth, an Abrams hovertank, or a Chinese Apache!

I could never build one myself, but I do love the Napoleonic era ships.  Is the name a nod to a certain officer who came up through the ranks of Wellington's army?
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

I can get you some detail photos of my parents Lasers this summer, if you want.

Actually most of us don't belong here, but it's the only place that'll have us.  Your ships are more than welcome Joe, a pleasant change!
