I just read in a Swedish MoD report, that the 3 C-17 Globemaster IIIs purchased by the NATO, will be operated by the Hungarian AF!
I hope that this is true, and it will be painted in Hungarian markings!

:tornado:

GTX

With the low viz style of marking as worn by their latest Gripens?

ive read that next to the 7th and 8th Globemasters for the RAF that 2 or 3 were sold to an unspecified customer.

but Hungary buying C-17's, thats very unlikely.
the NATO is gonna use them in the same way they use the E-3A AWACS now, that does not mean that hungary will operate them. the aircraft will only be based in hungary, but they  could fly under luxemburg registration.

just like the AWACS's in Germany

could be nominaly under Hugarian airforce control for diplomatic reasons, but still operated and controlled by Nato
I always hope for the best.

experience has taught me to expect the worst.

B-2 for Albania?

Interestingly, in the game F-22 DID, Yemen has B-2s, while Egypt and Saudi Arabia has F-22. Yemen also has chinese supplied Su-27s...

The way I read it a number of countries, 14 I belive, will share 3 C-17's in a joint venture. Each country will buy X amount of flying time to cover their operations. Formaly the a/c are owned by NATO but it has no say-so about operations etc.

The a/c's will be based in Hungary but the unit will be staffed by personell from participating countries.

B-2 for Albany?

F-15 for Rochester
F-35 for Long Island
Flankers for Niagara Falls
BUFFS for Buffalo
F-22 for New York City, just cause the Raptor is stylish, chic and trendy and no pilot in New York City would be seen flying anything so passe as an F-15. Those tired old things belong in Rochester, Dahling.
