Does anyone of you know if Royal Marines had used any kind of tank, MBT or similar; in the last 50 years.
Thanks,
Carlos.

they were issued with the sherman around 1944 for the d-day landings but they stoped using them shortly afterwards when they all became commandos in the early 1950,s

Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

So, do they perform landings in usual manner?

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

they currently use BvS10 Vikings which are armoured

along with Land Rovers, trucks etc. they previously used (still use?) BV206. The rest of the time they use boats & helicopters...

although in what if land you could give them CVRT Scorpions/Scimtars etc, LVTP-7/AAV-7 Amtracs, proper MBTs...

They also had the Centurion based BARV, and it's recent replacement, the Hippo  :o - converted from a Leopard 1A
It's not an effing  jump jet.

All the modern Barv and their replacments are not Royal Marine Equipment they belong to the Royal engeners who are part of the 3 comando group, not the marines (Their is a diffrance to us real green heads)
we do now have sevral small armound vicals such as the vicking but no large mbt etc.
WE DONT NEED THEM

Ok, Sorry if I'm wrong, I thought the BARVs were now all RM crewed - the RE or REME website doesn't mention them - but then neither does the RM one!

Only ref I could find was on the Bulwark site, referring to them being used by 4 Assault Squadron, RM
