Really, really shiny sabre

I use lacquer thinner for this stuff and the SNJ.  It is nasty, but works perfectly.  Just be careful about leaving it on any kind of surface you're not sure of--it will annihilate most coatings if you give it a chance.

I have come to prefer the water-cleanup stuff, especially when airbrushing.

For primer, I used several coats of a very dark gray sandable automotive primer out of a rattle-can.  You have to polish the undercoat exhaustively to get a good looking metal finish.  In fact, when it was sort of a mirror-black color, I almost decided to leave it that way.  Mirror-black is pretty sexy.

Very nice! I've heard lots of praise for it but unfortunately I'm an acrylic kind of guy....but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the results you guys get!

Finally, this thing is finished.  It's sat on my bench idle, until recently.  Overall it turned out pretty fair.  The decals were about a foot thick, but the alclad metalizer worked out just right.

This one is a big-time tailsitter, and I totally forgot to adjust for that.  Therefore I scratched some wheel chocks and a base, and CA glued the sucker down.

This is the Academy kit.  It rocks, except for the cockpit, which stinks.  But what the heck.

PS:  Sorry I didn't whiff it.  I guess that gives me an excuse to go pick up another one. . .  The agressor idea is still bouncing around in my brain housing group.
