NNS Aradu Frigate?

Unusual request.  Unlikely, but does anybody know of a kit of the Nigerian frigate NNS Aradu?  It's of the MEKO 360 class, built by Blohm & Voss in Germany.  Argentina also took four ships in the MEKO 360 class, the ARA Almirante Brown, ARA La Argentina, ARA Heroina & ARA Sarandi.  There are other MEKO classes, but not being a ship modeller I have no idea what changes would be required, if any kit could be found.

It's for a freind at work, he's just getting into modelling.  He's Nigerian, and natrually wants to build some Nigerian subjects.  I got a MiG-21 for him which he's built, it's just awaiting painting as references are thin on the ground.  He also built a Merkava, again, it's awaiting paint, but this time until I can find some for him!

Thanks in advance guys, not an easy one I know!

Simon.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Only ones i know of are scratch built 200's in a decent scale. Possibly some smaller wargaming size versions available.

Think what youre looking for is a MEKO 360 kit though...

Thanks Geoff.  I thought it was unlikely, he'll just have to go without I guess!

None of the MEKOs have been modeled, to my knowledge. They're just not that popular compared to battleships and carriers.

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

(Anybody read the build notes...)

Somewhat out on synch with the ship modelling world but possible somebody may do one in resin

While i cant help you with the MEKO, you might want to look for kits of the Combatante Fast Attack Boat and Vosper Mk. 9 corvette.

If your freind needs any more aircraft, i would recommend a Jaguar, Alpha Jet or Chengdu F-7 (doesnt trumpeter do a kit of this?). You might need the get a sheet of extra decals though...

Thanks Thomas.  The Eduard 'Third World' L-39 has Nigerian decals I've found out.  There's quite a list of aircraft that the NAF operate (or have operated) that are readilly available.  There are Hercs, MB.329, SA Bulldogs, HS 125, Hinds & plenty of others to keep him busy!

I beleive the Nigerian AF has a VIP 737-700 too.

And the Il-28 too.
