Well and truly jumped is the shark you say?
Does that mean that a zwilling of the Bismark and Tirpitz is now acceptable? How about the USS Akron and USS Maccon (Those 1930s airship aircraft carriers), or a zwilling based on that glider deployed tank thing the russians were messing around with?

Since I wasn't paying much attention to aircraft models about five years ago when all this zwillingitis happened the whole thing seems new to me... (okay, I knew about zwillings at the time, but I hadn't considered building what-if zwillings)

They're your fecking models, so you can twin them or spat them or t-tail them or blow them up with firecrackers! All you need to do is enough zwilling! 

I cannot imagine the turning radius on a catamaran Bismarck/Tirpitz.
