I had a bit of good news a couple of weeks ago, so I thought I might share it with some like minded modellers...
Thanks to a bit of mediation from Gary Hatcher at SAMI, the next Freightdog resin kit release will be...the Avro 720 in 1/72nd scale, as mastered by Paul Lucas.
The story goes that SAM Ltd have decided not to release the kit due to a change in their policy towards the resin range, so there loss has been my gain. For those of you who did not a sample last year at Telford, its a real beauty, better than the SR177 detail wise. Plan is to release it in September, the down side being that the 1154 gets pushed back to SMW08 as I can't fund both projects at the same time. It also means the Hawker P1081 will now be next year. Decal design is underway (RAF, RAuxAF and prototype schemes), and casting will be done by A2Zee Models, hopefully making this my first all British designed and manufactured kit. Price is to be finalised, but aim is to keep it just under £30.00.
I will post some profiles in a few weeks, and hopefully some shots of the masters.

Welcome news Colin as Paul approached the SIG regarding the Avro 720 and let us study a sample, whilste Mike McEvoy had a completed example with him as well. The master was really nicely detailed and will go down very nicely along side the SR P177's.

Nice touch with the UK production as well so should go down well at Cov show.

(Pity about the P1154 but we know the problems and can wait)

Great news Colin - the one they had on show was a terrific little kit.

I'm even more convinced now that Mr Hatcher is a closet wiffer !
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
