first off, no its not a chinese copy of Kitbashers Falcon UCAV
it is inspired by BdB's 1 week GB entry, the Diamontback. after looking in my spares bin, i noticed i have a number of unused stands for static aircraft, so i decided to use 1 of them to make a new stealth UCAV.

history:

the Raider UCAV is a small stealthy UCAV designed for light attack missions and carries only a small ammount of anti-tank weapons in its small internal weapons bay. the arsenal includes either one of these options:

-2 x AGM-65
-2 x Hydra 70mm rocket pods (16 each)
-3 x hellfire
-2 x Mk.82
-2 x CBU-97
-4 x FIM-92 stinger (in 4 tubes)
-2 x SDB's
-1 x anvanced recce pod + litening pod

the Raider is offered as a low-cost stealth attack drone similar to the F-117 but faster and with longer range and endurance. its ideal for close air support as it can be directed to the target by the ground forces.
the Raider also has large export potential, and already has been looked at by Japan, Taiwan, the philipenes, Netherlands, Belgium, Leutonia and the RAF. a carrier version is also planned for the Indian Navy.

parts to be used:

seen on the pic below:
-landing gear from a 1/144 revell F-15
-wing from styrene
-engines from a scrapped 1/350 B-52D
-window (for IR laser) from a 1/72 revell Heinkel blitz
-Maverick AGM's from the spare weapons box
on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

Great idea.

Maybe we should all be so diligent about using up some of the junk cluttering up our stash.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

That's a really awesome concept Nils! Aren't those left-over kit stands just perfect whiff-fodder? I'm really looking forward to seeing how this one comes out!

update:

inside the old stand i gleud some leftover styrine, witch will form the depth of the weapons bay.
furthermore, i spent the last 30 minutes carefully carving out the weaponbay doors and the landing gear doors with a knife. ive moved the front wheel a little more to the side, same as is bieng used in the A-10.
the big hole in the front is the weaponsbay, the other 3 will be for the landing gear. the LG holes will have small strips of styrene glued on the inside, so the gear "sinks" into the wing. the LG doors will also be made from the leftovers from the carved wing

That's beautiful!  And you built it with junk parts...

Brilliant idea, superb execution and an amazing result. Bloody well done Nils.

The engines spit out fire, I'm pushed back in my chair
The pressure gives me thrills as we climb in the air

Aww, isn't she cute!  Lovely little machine Nils!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Just shows what can be done with a flash of inspiration - well done, sir. ;D ;D
