That figure is coming along nicely too.  Way more intricate than the modification I posted in the Hints/Tips section.  If you have any in-progress shots and can spare the time to explain your process, I'd sure appreciate it if you could add your mod to my own thread (I, for one, would sure like to know how you managed to get all those dissimilar bits and bobs together so well!)
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

I finished the figure, finally. It took almost as long as the tank, and I was getting tired of it, so I didn't do as good a job as I'd wished.

Standing next to the tank, with the MAS-49 rifle:

Skin tone is "Elf Flesh" acrylic by Citadel. Eyes were done with colored pencils.

Other angles:

The pose is close enough to the photograph for government work.
Thanks for looking and for the comments and encouragement!

Beautifully done!   A fine companion for your Devil's Saw.

That's some really impressive work on the figure, Frank! I especially like how you did the eyes. Eyes on many modeled figures look large and bug-eyed, but you hit it just right! Bravo!

You use that paint too? So do i! However i think Vomit Brown is probably a bit more correct, given that a soldier in the tropics, would be both dirty and sun burned

Thanks Brian - The eyes were a serious PITA, and at one point the guy looked like one of these guys:

I ordered some 1/35 scale eye decals from Archer Transfers, but for this guy I just used some colored pencils from Blick and sharpened the points.

Trip7 - "Elf Flesh" was the closest to a normal skin tone that they had in the store. I normally use the various Testors flesh colored acrylics, but wanted to give this stuff a try. It airbrushes OK; the paint was separating in the cup, so I think it's best applied by brush. The Testors can be airbrushed.

The uniform was done in a mix of Testors Sand Acryl and some green. Then I used pastel dusts to darken and lighten where appropriate. The shading is probably too strong, or at least it looks that way in sunlight.

Woah! Thats either a still from "KILLERS FROM SPAAAACE" or a meeting of the Phantom Memorial Re-Enactment Society...

Beautiful work on the figure Frank-I'll have to try colored pencils. I used to be a fair hand at eyes, but my own aren't what they used to be.

That's indeed from "Killers from Space" or "Egads, these guys are dumber than rocks - how did they manage to travel through space?"

I've always done eyes at that scale with paint on a needle or a piece of plastix, and it's always hard to get them just right. I got the Archer decals yesterday and the smaller ones might work well. Also, the DML head I used has odd eyeballs - they're raised from the rest of the face, which made the eyes harder to paint.
