This is the 1/32 scale Matchbox Me 109E I recently finished, this was not my model it was built it for a non-modeler who had the kit and did not feel comfortable trying to build it on his own.
The owner wanted the model to be built with the gear up and the pilot figure at the controls...something I don't care for on my own models but this model was intended to be displayed hanging from the ceiling.

The kit was built O.O.B. and painted with Model Master enamels.

Thanks Gondor and eatthis!

The oil streaks under the engine cowling and exhaust stains on the fuselage sides are normal for DB powered fighters, the engines on all piston engine fighters of the Luftwaffe tended to leak fluids. ;D

Superb build Matrix, as usual I mght add. From the markings applied, this looks like Adolf Gallands personal aircraft when he was Grppen Kommador of JG26.

Captain Canada

Very nice ! I'm sure your friend will be quite happy....and impressed ! I like the idea of gear up/ pilot in....as I also like to hang the occasional model in a flying position. Used to see it all the time when we were kids, almost every kid ( on the army base  ) had a model or 10 hanging in their bedroom !

Thanks Guys!

Captain Canada,
The owner was delighted with the finished model. Funny thing is I almost declined to build this model because the owner wanted it put in the markings of Erich Hartmann, I had to explain to him that Hartmann never flew the Me 109E on operations and if he wanted the model put in the markings of a famous pilot it would have to be Galland's aircraft or I would not be interested in the job.

The early versions of the 109 I have little interest in but after painting this scheme on the Matchbox kit I decided to build a Me 109E for myself, my model is the Academy 1/72 scale kit.
