1/144 J-10: second attempt

last year i build a 1/144 model of a J-10, using a converted RoG Typhoon kit.
the end result was promissing, but in the end, the wings were to far forward and the canards were to big 

as i was looking at the stash today, i still had a spare revell 1/144 typhoon kit, witch i had no idea what to do with it 
after looking at some video's of the J-10, i decided to give the Typhooon/J-10 conversion another go, thistime by adding some new parts, including scratchmade wings and a modified spare canopy from a scrapped RoG 1/144 SU-27 kit.

up to now, the result is far better then i expected, except for the tailsection, but overall its an improvement.

here's a picture of how the first converted J-10 looked like.

as you can see, a steady evolution 
the new J-10 will replace the old one on the shelf, the old one will be repainted for whiff purposes

Looks definately better then the old one. But I can't understand why people want to build those tiny little aircraft.

Not me, I'm so clumsy if I go below 1/48 I might as well not open the box. I have great respect for anyone that can work that small.

the J-10 soming allong nicely, i just engraved the blue panel linels of the wings and tail. the hardpoints have now also been glued on. now the J-10 will be placed on the "work in progress" shelf until the glue is dry.
also seen on my production line is the MIG-21CDW. sen in front is my new ambitious (and secret) Sukhoi SU-41 stealth fighter project. (topic will be made as soon as its finished  )

the J-10C (witch i have named it now) will possibly recieve Chinese markings, but im planning on making a what-iff camo sheme. the reason i called it the J-10C is because of the IRST witch is standard molded on the revell flanker canopy. the plane will also recieve external tanks, and maybe even conformal tanks

I'm coming to these a little late, but they're awesome!

I am also a sort of 1/48 guy, but I find more and more that the smaller kits are more manageble for quick whiffing ideas.  Particularly the good 1/144 kits.

and more news, the old J-10 will not go to the junkyard that fast, ive completly removed the wings and canopy, and im gonna give it the same wings and canards as the new version. it will become an FC-20, the export varriant of the J-10

Looks good Nils! It's even more impressive when one considers the small scale you're working in. Isn't 1/144 fun?
