Hey guys.

I've just started work on an Me.1101 from Dragon - the kit seems jinxed. A small dooverlacky snaped when I cut it from the sprue, and I forgot to take the right paints with me when visiting my parents on the weekend so nothing much happened...

Anyway, here are pics.

There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

Hey, It's a good start. If you've got a microdrill and some brass wire you can fix that snapped L/G leg right away.

Unfortunately, the nearest microdrill is about 130 kilometers away... and I lost the broken bit... and I think I installed things wrong anyway... the instructions in this kit are actually a bit confusing.

I've hit similar kind of things with my Cougar/Super Puma PW.  The snags have made my head drop a bit, so I've taken a little time out to finish a half done kit.  Hope you can keep it going!

Maybe finish it wheels up if you're having trouble with the undercart?
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I am finishing it wheels up! Most of my attention is on the Airix Grumman Duck I'm also building - it's easier! However, I have glued the lower fuselage assemblies and gear doors on in the closed positions. Which is annoyingly hard to do actually - full marks to Dragon for providing all the open panel options, but it actually means it's really hard to attach the panels in the closed positions because there are no locator pins or guides... oh well, a lot of PSR will have to happen...

I have both the day fighter and the night fighter version of that kit.

I have toyed with the idea of pulling it out a couple of times but keep getting swayed by something else.
Get this Cheese to sick bay!

What is the difference between the kits? I assume the night fighter would have radar arials?

The nightfighter version has antenna ( can't remember if they're plastic or PE ) and a quartet of X-4 missiles, which are quite nice. I built the Huma kit years ago, but haven't gotten around to this one yet. The box art,
showwing the jet attacking a formation of B-32s, is pretty cool too.

I did the Revell one of these some years ago and all the etch was in plastic in typical Dragon/Revell rebox, as a nightfighter with radar but quite a nice kit though. Seem to remember using a Revell 262 jet exhaust on this.

Okay, mine has the four X-4 missiles as well. There's some photo etched antenna, but just the usual loop radio sort of things, don't look like radar to me... Which of course doesn't mean they aren't. It just means I am ignorant of late war German radar...

...And my face is redder than the Baron's Funfdekker...I have the Day fighter, not the nightfighter. I
think the latter has wing mounted radar, ala some of the FW 190 experiments, but I can't swear to it...
Really should have looked at the kit before I posted ( I was at work at the time... :banghead:)
