Hi All!!

I thought I had my SAAF MiG down as the original SAAF profile that Richard did. Now he's released more and I'm thrown into a confused world of SAAF MiG extacy which no clear idea of which one to do now. All will be done as my anthology of SAAF MiGs one day :) But I'd like you ideas of which one to start with.

1. SAAF 1

SAAF 2

SAAF 3

SAAF 4

SAAF 5

My current choice is the AZ styled camo...

Well, of course, you could build them all!
But if "one", I'd go for SAAF 3, the F.1-AZ scheme.

I'm going to have fun with some of those too, and I really like the grey one. I might use "retro" decals though, from the Korean War.

Errrr, HELLO!!!!

Sheesh, wastin' time with a chinese new year, Rube Goldberg poll when we ALL know there's only ONE SAAF scheme any plane wishes to be seen in:

Number 1.  I like the four colour camo, & the full rudder fin flash gives it a nice splash of colour.  Plus, if your going to build them all anyway, might as well do them in chronological order?

After that it's the grey splinter, followed by the F-1AZ scheme.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

BlackOps

I'd go with number 1, It was in my top three for my build and it ended up being my runner up. I really like them all quite a bit.

You know I think that if I were to do, say, another 5 or 6 SAAF MiG-21 profiles, I could have Damian admitted into a special Hospital by the end of the week!  ;D

I hope once I get settled into my next rented house (wife and I saw and applied for one today that is beautiful, so fingers crossed!) to start limited production of several of my "What if?" subjects in decal form. These SAAF MiG's included.

Even though on the ALPS printer I can't produce a solid pale grey, for scheme 4 I could provide the decals in white, which would mean one applies the decal as per normal, seals it with a varnish coat, then sprays the background grey over the top until the desired low-vis grey is achieved. If anybody remembers my Australian Rafale, that is how I achieved the light green RAAF roundels on it, so I know it works and works quite well. Spraying grey over black can produce a dark grey marking too.

But for now I'd have to choose scheme 3.

Richard.

Number 1, for the splasj of colour on the rudder.
