I have a soft spot for autogyros, and this one is grand.

For the rotors of a 1/48 resin helo (they were _heavy_) I did something similar, drilling out holes to insert long pieces of relatively thick metal rod.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Thanks for the tip guys! Joe, consider this a tribute build then! By the way, how long have you had that RN autogyro in your queue? :P Must I demand pics?

By 1943 the Bludgeons began to be replaced by newer observation autogyros.....

I hardly think that classes as an observation ship....! How awesome! Can I see more pics? Have you by chance created a thread with backstory elsewhere? That thing is foxy!

What a great way to finish up 2009 Zac! Your talent extends far beyond hobbits and fixed-wing aircraft to autogyros too!

A very clean, impressive piece of modeling my friend!

I would soooo love to see that in 1:1 scale! Lovely job Zac!

Nice to see an autogiro Zac. Got one in the "started" pile - need to work out how to fix plastic rotor blades to a tiny resin hub  :banghead:
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

KiwiZac

Thanks guys! The blades are 1:48 MD500, not 1:72. Sorry!

Glad to have it finished, and just in time to see the year out. Glad you all like it, too! Tell ya what Dave, find me a Bulldog fuse and I'll see what I can whip up! :P
