Radial Thought or Too Radical for Radials

Visiting the various forums I've noted some fantastic engine detailing being done. I love the look of a well detail radial engine...but why is it that manufactures cannot put the injection point somewhere other than the tops of the cylinders. Why not at the exhaust port or the in the location of the spark plug? I know most don't open up their cowls to expose the tops of the jugs, but I would think more would if they looked better.

Aftermarket mfr cast the jugs separate from the crankcase...cool! But it too could be done casting them with the crank, just leave off the tops. Make the top of each jug separate with the injection point on the flat (mating surfaces to the cylinder) with a tag coming off the spark plug or exhaust or intake port.

Does it bother you when you have to destroy the fin detail on top of a cylinder to remove the flash; parting line or sprue connection point?

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.
