G'day Gang,

PMMS has test shots of the AFV Club MGS (http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/newkitnews/afvclub.htm).

Interestingly, neither the box art nor the test shot photos show the supporting legs that this thing needs to actually fire its weapon off the centreline axis.  I guess either AFV Club hasn't done their homework (doubtful) or they believe the GDLS hype that vehicle doesn't require it.  ISTR seeing airbrushed photos of the type firing its gun to the side, but later images noted that the supports were photoshopped out on the original pic.

GTX

Me thinks that external gun mount could find its way onto other things as well!

Hello, Nurse!  Chalk this one up as another for the stash.  One of these days I plan on whiffing an LAV-25 MGS in my beloved Corps markings, but I'm going to do my own version of the turret.

I agree with GTX, though, that gun mount could go on a lot of things and look pretty cool doing it.
The Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah, the Men's department.

YUM!

I have a friend hammering around in these at the moment - might as well pick up a couple, one for me and one for him.

You're right about that external gun mount...there's a whole lot of things just asking for something like that!
