Hello all,

One of the few "Holy Grail" kits I'm still looking for is an Airfix/AMT Space:1999 Eagle Transporter or Eagle Interceptor.  I built several each of these as a child of the 1970s when I could whoooosh around the living room with my Eagle as the action played out on the telly, and would love to have one to build now, but I just cant bring myself to pay the prices they bring on Ebay.  Is there anyone who has one they wolud like to part with for a fair price or trade/part trade (see my recent "Organizing the Stash" thread in General Modeling to see what I have, though the TSR2 isnt up for trade)?

I know this is a long shot, but, you never know when some benevolent soul may be sitting on a stack of Eagles!!

Thanks!
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Wasn't the interceptor called a Hawk? It only appeared in one episode of the actual show, but it was a really popular kit: I had several of both in the same timeframe as you.....

I built a huge Lego model along the general lines of the Eagle, with a detachable cargo pod and a detachable "seperate spacecraft" command module which even had space for two jet packs for it's crew. Only trouble? It was too damn heavy to fly around the room..... ;D (Imagine an Eagle scaled up to Lego minifigs size: it was about three feet long  :o)

I just had a look on UK ebay for you: no Eagles, two Hawks, both with £15.00 starting prices....

You're absolutely right, I meant Eagle and Hawk.  I loved the little Airix Hawk kit, I must have had about half a dozen of them when I was a kid.  Now they generally go for upwards of $75 on ebay.  For a pocket-money Airfix kit!!

   I got a Hawk!!

I found one on ebay, MPC boxing, open box, but sealed bag and bid on it.  It was listed in Collectibles, not in Models, and I ended up being the only bidder.  Still not cheap, since the opening bid was in the 40s, but still, with shipping it was about $30-50 less than they generally go for.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Another place you might want to look is the Trading Post on the Starship Modeler site.  They took down the TP section of the forum, but that section of the main site is still active, and constantly updated.

I've seen the Imia kit advertised as 1/110 scale on ebay, and wondered how it is.  I may have to keep my eyes open for one, though I have seen a few of them go for almost as much as the Airfix-mold kits.
