Hi all!

Kiwi Unlimited Race Team manager and chief pilot Zac Yates has unveiled their flagship aircraft, Yak-11 N1115YA Yak Attack. With a Toolslinger Engine Works R3350 under the cowl and a striking red colourscheme, Race #15 is slated to debut at Reno in 43 days time.

Yak Attack is a highly modified former Egyptian Air Force Yak-11 trainer, modified with a powerful Wright R3350 engine and various aerodynamic improvements

Zac stated, "We're overjoyed to bring the first 'downunder' Unlimited racer to Reno since Les Beehan's Mustang Miss Alice in the 1970s, and feel that Yak Attack has what it takes to make a real impression on the veteran field this September.

"For the first race season our pilot will be Steven Hinton, son of the famous warbird and race pilot Steve, as I don't want to end my Reno campaign in the same year I start it! We don't want to set our sights too high, but we remember that in 1982 Dago Red won Gold on her first outing, so the precedent exists," Zac concluded.

Kiwi Unlimited also plans to bring an ex-RNZAF T-6 Harvard to Reno this year. Please look for further releases concerning this exciting development soon.

Very well done Zac-o-matic! Those racing markings really add to the look as does the spiral on the prop spinner!

With the "hand of God" helping out, she's sure to break all speed records!

Keep em coming. It's nice that you have got back into the modeling groove again.

Nice racer, and formidable-looking.

An acquaintance of mine runs a Yak-55 on the aerobatic circuit. I helped him transliterate some English names into Russian to put on his plane. He promised me a ride in the Yak next time I encountered him, but it hasn't happened.

Craig - bah! Tell him to get a real Yak, like a -52 or even better an -11! :P Actually, just a 50 is fine ! If you get the chance, I'm keen to demand pics of the 55 though.

Sisko - *blushes* thanks dude. It's nice to be back into it - albeit slowly. No more frenzies like the 16 or so P-40s!

STS - do you think TEW can work on the P&W for my T-6? I'd be more than happy to put the company logo on the cowl :D

Here's a rough one taken from an aerobatic magazine:
