That is called a "Single Edge Razor Blade" and it is quite common in hardware stores here.  There are a number of tools that are designed to accept this type of blade for removing paint and cutting open cardboard boxes.

You can do a search for "Box Cutter" or "Single Edge Razor Blades" and come up with a number of links.

Sources for the single edge razor blades:
Mountain 950 - #9 Single Edge Razor Blades. 100 Pack.
ULine Replacement Blades for H-595 or H-1001
GEM® Scientific Blades

Example of the types of tools that use the single edge razor blades:
ULine Economy Cutter
Paint Scraper Tool

My pleasure, makes me feel useful when I can help someone.

I am surprised that the single edge razor blades and associated tools are not more common in Europe.  I find the box cutter type of tool to be very useful.  Some versions allow you the option of using the blade as a scraper when it is fitted to the other end of the holder or as a box cutter.  Either way, the single edge razor blade is a very useful tool.

"Box-cutters" are commonly known as "Stanley knives" here in the UK - after the popular tool brand. Maybe you'll have more luck searching for that name?
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Using Stanley Knives as a search term will net you many images such as this:

and the replaceable blade for this type of tool looks like this:

The search term should be single edged razor blade or box cutter to locate a source of supply in your area.  Best to print out an image of the single edge razor blade and box cutter and take them with you if you are visiting a hardware store.

Stanley Knives, or Utility Knives are very common in Lowe's, Home Depot, and hopefully the European equivalent such as Halfords or other retailers.

Carlos,

Amazon.com has a 100 count package of single edge razor blades in stock if you want to order them on-line.  The price is $7.11 which is quite cheap for a package of 100 heavy duty razor blades.

If you can not find this item in Europe or Spain, let us know, we can source these items here in the States and Canada with no problem and the replacement blade packages are available in 100 count containers which will last you for quite some time.  I think the postage will actually cost more than the blades.

Another common tool that uses the single edge razor blade is called a scraper which can look like the tool in this image:

Stanley blades are quite thick, and suitable for applications where a fair amount of force is exerted on the blade, e.g. cutting heavy cardboard and carpet. I'd expect razor blades to be thinner (but I've never used them so I can't be sure).

I use Swan-Morton scalpel blades instead for modeling. They are thinner, but sharper than a Stanley knife.

You might also be able to find the single edged razor blades in the sewing tools section of a fabric shop.

My mom does a lot of sewing and any time I ever went into a fabric shop with her, the sewing tool section always had a stock of those single edged razor blades.

Hi Jeffry,

Normally I use Xacto blades which are easily found in hobby shop. But I had a pair of packs of these single edges that my mother gave me when I was boy. Since then I had never seen them in Spain (well, I did not look for them hardly). After your reference, I made a search in ebay. As a result I got lots of Stanley knives and only one proper single edge razor blade, from UK. As it was fairly cheap, I ordered.

Thaks a lot for your kind interest.

Merchandise arrived quickly from UK. They are 'Made in USA'. So I think this is common USA and rare in Europe  do not know why.
