yesterday morning, my home town of Ostend was transformed into the capital of "Madistan". 100's of soldiers landed in the city by air and by sea. here's Video #1 of the exercise.

there will be a special Video #2 later, in witch i tagged allong with the paratroopers as they wer shooting in my street  :o
i followed them into the city park were i got stuck in gunfire, even found 2 shot rounds as souvineers  :rolleyes:
the second video wasnt intended, but it gave my day something special to tell about  ;D

ok, today was Day 2 of "Operation: Storm Tide".
and of cource, ouyrs treuly, your very own war-correspondent was in the heat of battle to bring you a report of whats happened in Madistan Today.

Great footage but if you see any British Paras with beer mats and a stapler, run, they have this habbit of showing off just how hard they are by stapling a beer mat to their fore heads for fun.  ;D :o

Great footage! Regarding that first part, Day 1, the An-12 at the airport really made it look like a 3rd world country! :bow:

My uncle, who was in the Danish army said something similar about the British paras too...

Awesome stuff ! What a treat that must have been.....lucky you !

I think the seconf herc in the first vid did it right. Stay low and gather speed before climbing. Way cool !

Looks like you got some awesome flyovers in the backyard as well.

The attack on the bunker was pretty cool as well.

But you'll find, as you get to be my age, you'll spend more time focusing the camera on cute girls and less on the army stuff at times like the civy evac !

There are some really great photos you have there Nils, thanks for sharing and I noticed that cap badge on the Belgian troops is very near to the SAS design  ;D
