Once upon a time, I picked up a (f)RoG Ta 152H, not realizing what was actually IN the box

But hey, I ain't mad, the plastic was cheap anyway.

Still, I wanted to make something decent looking, so I decided to spiff it up with bits from a Tamiya Fw190D that I no longer intended to build, namely the cockpit, canopy, engine cowling and exhaust, undercarriage(which turns out to be different enough... whoops :banghead:), and horizontal tail. Since eeeveryone knows what a luftwaffe Ta is supposed to look like, I think this one'll go Japanese. I might add the cowling guns, for extra whallop.

Any inaccuracies can be blamed on japanese reingineering and differing IJAAF requirments.

The Ki-190 might look good in Japanese markings, and maybe its exactly what Japan needed to contest the upper airspace where the B-29's lived. Maybe put a Rustsatz gunpack under each wing--the 30-mm short-barreled Mk 103 or the long-barreled Mk 108 come to mind.

Good luck on your project.
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

I agree with Craig, the Ki-190 would be a hell of a hitter, and a concept not entirely out of precedent, especially for Army birds - look at the Ki-61, a good chunk of that was German with some Japanese twists on it.  Looking forward to seeing your Tank on Tank whifbash in progress, Goob.

Overkill? Nah, it's Insurance.  So are the 20" guns.

That's a pretty good idea, I think I've used up all my luftwaffe gunpacks, but I might have something better...

37mm off a Zvezda Il-2.

If I don't use 'em here, I'll put them on a nearly finished D-9... er... Ki-190-IIa I have sitting around.

37MM?  That is some serious firepower, excellent for a bomber interceptor

Someone did a Japanese Fw-190D or Ta-152 profile here a while ago in response to a request from me - if you can find it, it might be od inspiration.
