Ryan's little 'what it' project!

When flown, I wonder what the engineers at Ryan thought.....what if the Navy doesn't like it? What if the pilots don't like it? Well, I like it, and as a 'what if' model...it sure fits in! This is the MPM, 1/72 model of the Fireball...and I won't say it was the easiest model to make....I gave up drinking Vodka while making this kit, and that was two months ago! The model sent me to destruction. Turns out OK in the end, but a lot of hard work!

Glenn,

Another odd one to add to your fleet of extraordinary model aircraft.  I would hazard to guess that your liver is still saying thank you to that little kit for putting you on the wagon.  Usually it was the other way around and after a few adult beverages the hand became much steadier and the alcohol helped to ward off distractions :)

Hi Glen

Strange how different people have different views of kits (see elsewhere the Revell He 70 and Airfix Canberra's). This was the first limited edition kit I built on returning to the Hobby - built as an RAN bird - and I remember it quite fondly. Probably something to do with the fact that my own skills don't come anywhere near yours and therefore my expectations of the finished product are less ? Still it would be a boring old planet if we all shared the same views - safer yes, but boring as hell

Chris

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Not older than dirt but remembers when it was still under warranty.

Nice!  I've one of those in my stash.  I'm trying to figure out what to do with it.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

This is the only other shot of this in the air, eventually will have a landing shot....
Building this section, was the easy bit, the 'on the wagon' bit happened when I attempted to assemble the undercart!!!!

Very nice Glenn, I like how you posed that.

I've always liked this little aircraft ever since I saw the 3-View drawings of it in my volumes of Aircraft of the Fighting Powers.  When MPM released their kit of it I got one right away plus the Darkshark.  Here's a couple of pics of mine, I changed a couple of things and added some other bits and pieces.

Edit: sorry about the size of the pics, I've figured out how to reduce the pixels count but not how to make the pic smaller yet.
Edit II: got them a little smaller.

If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Glenn

1. select a good 'back drop'
2. place model on stand and shoot in High Resolution
3. when 'down loaded' crop shot to good detail image.
4. use PhotoShop to remove stand, replace detail and blur prop (or)
add heat from tail pipe.
5.if using PhotoBucket, reduce images to 600px wide or lower. (35~50kb)

PS nice shots, by the way!
