Nail files and sanding blocks

I was in the local Chemist's today looking for some sanding sticks and came a cross these two.
The large type made by Creative Max is a four in one foam sanding block, 27mm x 27mm x 95mm, has 4 grades roughness and was £1, the second type made by Fortuna is made from glass, 140mm long and comes in 4 grades, each a different colour, yellow, green, red and blue and was £1.99.
Both types work great on plastic and filler but the glass type really is good, well recommended.

thanks for the info Steve. you know it never ceases to amaze me where modellers look to get thier tools from. I used to get all my sanding stick from my local chemist until they stoppped doing them. it always amuses mr to think of all these hairy arsed modellers buying nail care products to smooth and shape bits pf plastic.
It always amuses me when I get funny looks off of the shop assistant when I dump a pile of assorted grades on the counter to pay for them, and the look of relief on thier faces when I explain that I use them for modelling with..

Its worse when you ask for acetone, you then find out its used in the manufacture of class A drugs

Thats why I go down the "nail polish remover" route and you get visited by Special Branch

Virtually ever common chemical in the world is used in the manufacture of Class A drugs.  And WMDs too.  They all require some combination of Hydrochloric/Sulphuric Acid, Toluene, Methanol etc.

There was much slapping of foreheads in the 90s and again in the 2000s when there was talk of tighter controls on chemicals that could be used to make WMDs.  "Control Cyclohexane?  But virtually every chemical factory inthe world uses it by the ton!"  And thats why UN weapons inspectors come to my workplace every few years
