Collector Kit Prices, pricing a collection and want some opinions

I am currently pricing kits from a collection to put up for sale along with a couple of my own (yes, I will post the list later).  90+% of the kits are from before 1980 with a couple from the 50's and even at least one that dates back to WWII (not plastic).  Trying to come up with a fair price on the kits that I think I can get for the guy but have seen some of them priced fairly high on Kit Collector sites.
So, are there people out there who really pay these prices?
I want to sell the better part for him but don't want to rip him off by posting a kit for  $40 when a collector would pay over $100.  Want your honest opinions here.

Some examples:
1/48 Aurora Gotha Bomber dated 1958
1/90 Monogram AC-47 with factory applied camo dated 1966
1/113.6 Revell B-47 dated 1956
1/48 HAWK Lockheed U-2 dated 1962

Sorry Brian, no WWI aircraft but there are a few with spats.

I'll be looking forward to seeing the list Phil.

Here's a thought, you can check e-bay and see if any of those kits have been sold recently and what prices they went for. If I was doing this, I'd look for enough prices that I could use to draw an average. Another thought is to check the review pages on Modeling Madness and Hyperscale. They often give a fair value for older kits.

It might also be helpful to keep in mind that many of the Hawk kits were re-popped by Testors which I'd think would limit their value somewhat. Also, many of the Revell and Monogram kits have been re-released multiple times which would have a similar effect.

Dork the kit slayer

Revell have re released the B47 ( I picked one up for £5 on Ebay) Unless you want the genuin box...etc etc.

Have a look on Ebay see what there going for.   I saw a U2 last week for "not very much".

The Gotha is a real wild card...collectors will pay a fortune...builders wont pay too much.
Im pink therefore Im Spam...and not allowed out without an adult

The Hawk U-2 kit is the original release and builds a U-2A, the fuselage moulds were later modified to produce the U-2C.
So for folks who want to build an early U-2 in 1/48th, the original Hawk release is the only current option, seeing as
Cutting Cheese imploded and their U-2A conversion kit is on the 'collectors market'.

Old Model Kits is site that caters to the collector market, prices are high and what his sales are is anybody's guess.

Box condition and kit completeness are definite factors in that market, original advertising/catalog inserts tend to increase the price.
