Following successful test flights with the DH Swallow, the RAF opted for a flying wing/tailless design for their next all weather/night fighter. The result was the DH Vortex. Commonly called the "Pregnant Pig" by it's crews in reference to its less than stellar flying characteristics and the large belly tank. Although never a major success, the Vortex NF.3 flew with the RAF until replaced by the EE LIghtning.

The model was built for a GB over on the BTS forum. It was made from an old 1/72 Frog DH Venom NF kit and some 1/48 Me-109 wings.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

No, no, no! You do not die for your country, you make the other one die!

The Pregnant Pig perfectly presented packs plenty of punch, and has positively prize-winning potential!

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Yeah... yeah... that sort of works for me as well

Well done! It reminds a bit of those Blohm and Voss Luft 46 machines.
