Again, I am a lazy, lazy man...  Goober, edit to your liking!

The rules!

1. The GB runs from 12am Pacific Time Aug 31st until Nov 31st, 2008.  Completed builds may be posted anytime until the deadline.

2. Paint up planes that have always(or usually) been in color into modern low-vis greys.
Example: Spitfire, Sabre, Frogfoot, Sturmovik, Bearcat, Liberator etc

-=*(OR)*=-

Paint up a normally boring-grey plane into a colorful scheme! Example: Any modern USAF type in Southeast Asia greens and tan. If there are enough entries, I might consider this as a seperate sub-gb with its own poll and prize...

I'm not sure where bare metal finishes fit in, but feel free to go with it, as long as the subject never(or hardly ever) flew naked in real life.

3. Scratchbuilding and kitbashing are encouraged.

4. Winner will be chosen by way of popular vote. Prize(s) have yet to be acquired but expect a model kit valued around $15-25US or a book about military aircraft. If the winner is overseas, I'll go with whichever prize is lighter

5. There is no Rule #5.

6. Have fun!

;D NEW RULE 10/06
7. For the purposes of variety, Bare Naked Metal Finish goes both ways, meaning that...

a. Normally NMF planes(i.e B-58, P-51D) or silver ones (RAF interwar biplanes, Airships)put in gray OR camo are eligible.

b. AND any plane that normally appears painted, gray, camo'd or otherwise, done up in bare metal or silver counts!
I exist to pi$$ others off!!!

New rule, shouldn't mess anyone up, but it should clear up any questions Ed S or anyone would have about the eligibility of a gray Ultra-Sabre.

If this frees up any further entries, then feel free to join!

Thanks.  I appreciate this clarification.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Does aluminium/silver paint count?  It's a metallic shade of grey & often used as a substitue to NMF.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Question - when exactly is the cut-off?

This thread says Nov.31st (which would be a good trick), the board title says Nov.30th and neither of them specifies a time. Do we have all of the 30th, i.e. is the cutoff one minute after 23.59 hours on the 30th?

I ask because, although the model will be finished shortly, it's already too dark for outside photography, so I want to know if I've got to photograph it tonight or if I can wait for tomorrow morning.

It seems that we've got a couple that are juuuust on the verge of being finished. Since the Kommisar's original post says November 31st, who are we with our calendars to question it?

You've got all of the 30th to work. Since we're all in different time zones, I wouldnt be above assuming something was already finished on time but not posted till November 31st or even 32nd....
