Thanks, ysi! This build is on hold at the moment, while I try and finish my Profiles GB projects. I will be back to it soon, though. :)

This build is still on my desk, but I'm trying to finish some others that are closer to being done first. I will get back to it!

Mad thoughts at work here, Pyro:

Canopy issue - you want to ditch the pillar in the middle, you could try using a hair dryer on high, put something around it to brace the work, use the back edge of your exacto and once the plastic is warm and slightly soft, try smoothing it out gently.

Nose - The conventional nose lets you keep the radar, if you bulk it out on the sides a little, you could in principle put in targetting pods - you could also go with adding an EOTS on the underside of the nose, A La F-35 if you wanted.

Tail - I agree with Ed, keep the single tail, you want some resemblance of the father still left around.

I think that sorts out my thoughts on all the issues - if not you'll hear from me again.
Putty-fu, Scratch-jutsu and Bash-chi, the sacred martial arts of the What-If. Mastering them, is Ancient Chinese Secret.

Just your friendly neighbourhood Mad Scientist and Ship-whiffer.

Overkill? Nah, it's Insurance.  So are the 20" guns.

Supertom

By the way, from the looks of it you have the Revell boxing of the Italeri kit, which wasn't that great.  Revell now has an in-house boxing which is the one everyone's raving about.

No, this is definitely the Revell tooling. It came with the huge stack of weapons, and I have another one in the kit hoard, which is much better. Just a one-off bad shot I think. :)

Saur: Thanks for the thoughts. I may do something with that targetting pod idea. I'll have to have a play with some shapes when I get round to building the cockpit sides etc. :)
