Wow !
Thanks for the response - quite unexpected; y'all realise what you've done now - you've raised the expectation level to a point where I will have to really work my a*se off, so as to not let everybody down..... which is probably a very good thing..... I am really lazy and the kit deserves to be built well, Airfix took a h*ll of a chance when they released it.

OK, I'm starting my (delayed) paternity leave next week, which means I should be able to get an hour or so a day whilst Baby-Gatherer starts nursery, which in-turn means I should be able to get the aforementioned MiG finished. Then it's on with the 'ickle' TSR2......

.....Don't ask me when I'll do the big one, probably when I get around to buying/fitting a shelf strong enough to accommodate it !

Thanks guys.

Ian

A buddy of mine has the Airfix 1/48 TSR2, and is doing it in the ETPS Raspberry Ripple scheme. He's run into a couple of issues and asked me if I'd plumb the knowledge bank on here. :)

There are three parts on the sprues that aren't mentioned in the instructions, namely parts 17, 36 and 37. The first one looks like an arrestor hook apparently, but there's nowhere to put it. The latter two look like small hydraulic jacks, possibly to hold the canopies open, but once again nowhere obvious for them to go and no illustration showing them either.

Anyone any ideas please?

In addition, one of the ETPS decals has overlapped the varnish coat and he wonders if this is the same on other 1/48 Xtradecal sheets?

(I've offered to solve the latter by the 'scan and print' method, but it would be interesting to know of the problem is general in nature)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Part 17 is the pilots joystick and is on the instructions, parts 36/37 are the extra undercarriage jacks fitted to 221 to ensure the undercarriage extended and retracted correctly, back fitted to 219, but never fitted to '222'. Check photos for reference.

Geoff,

Thanks for that, I knew someone here would have the answer. :)

I'll pass the information on.
