So what do people think of the 'MY country needs you' version?
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

Again?
I have done this a number of times (Su-47 CAIMAN FAV, F-20A FAV, F-5L FAV Baba).  I even got accused of creating the first Whiff novel!
Okay, Okay. I will think of something....Regardless of who is in power over there....

Hmmm - might be a good excuse to buy a CF-105 and do it as a 2nd generation RAF"Agile Arrow", with fuselage corner Skyflashes, proper canopy, twin tails etc....

As to "My country needs you", SAn Tortan Navy hovercraft? You could call it the Souflé... ;D  OR has San Torta had a jet flying boat fighter yet?

Pegasus Hobbies make little 1/72 Porsche tanks that the Gentry of the Republic of Califailure could use.

Somehow, I'd kinda like to see a Sea Venom or Sea Vixen used by the U.S. Coast Guard in an air to ground role. Mini guns on the Venom, some lighter duty anti shipping missiles on the Vixen, both weapons 'invented' for the aircraft.

Actually, variations of this subject have been on my mind during my 410 mile weekly commute the last month or two.   It helps the time pass.

Depends. What is San Torta looking for?

Seems like a bit of a broad subject for a GB IMO.  The Fictional Country GB is fair enough, but to build anything from your own country is a bit too broad a scope - although we have had (and no doubt will continue to have) specific country GBs - Japan, Canada, USAF etc.

You said:

How about NOW? There is a "floaty things" GB going on right now that ends April 30. Should be plenty of time---this is still February!

I postponed a favorite project to join the GB, as I had not done a floatplane in 30 years and figured it was TIME.

It's not exactly meant to work that way - it's not specific to a particular fictional country, you can build something which fits in with any of the fictional countries created on this forum (although you might want to seek permission from the country's 'owner')

i prefer the "YOUR country needs you" version.
i bet, and i know im not lying, that every person has a feeling of "why couldnt we by.....instead of that crappy....."

for exsample, our british friends that (for exsample) hate the F-35B, could build a navalised version of the Typhoon for the RN's new CVF's

or our french members could build a 2-seater version of the Rafale-M (the proposed rafale-N) as a carrier based 2-seat attack/strike aircraft to replace the SEM. or ould build a replacement for the Breguet Alizé, like an Aeronavale S-3FN  ;D

i even plan on building a Belgian A-129 and "yet to be specified utility helicopter" to replace the A-109 witch have been a mistake from the start.

Having lived in Kenya for a couple of years, I want to build a Kenyan Typhoon. Or Gripen.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

This one would be easy.  Build an F-16 with conformal tanks, F-2 wings and/or the heavy spine, and slap USAF markings on it.  Israel, Poland and the UAE are getting the latest gen Vipers, while we soldier on with various blocks of the C/D.

That'd cover a lot of ground- advanced F-16s for the USAF and F-35s for other countries.

(There are a lot of countries that will have to wait until the US and the Britain get their fill of the Lightning II...... assuming the US would let those countries get it at all.)
