Ah 2000AD, plesant memories of hogging the reading room for a quiet read (it was also the music room when the lock was broke and you had to whistle to let people know you were in there!)

Thinking back I`m suprised that more of the characters wern`t produced from the comic. Somewhere I`ve got Robohunter. Judge Dredd and the Death Judges etc when they were done in around 30mm white metal.

But a very nice build out of unusual objects. Probably would have been easier with Plastruct but a damned lot more expensive.

Thanks for the views

That's so cool PW that I took the liberty of adding one of the pics so everyone can catch a glimpse of your excellent work!

Heh - nice one PW!

All my school books and folders had, somewhere on them, a copy of Chiefy Pigrat from the Ace Garp strip in 2000AD....

Robohunter actually ran in 2000AD when I was to little to notice... (when I was about 2 anyway!), however I have been buying the trade paper backs Rebellion (the new owners) have been putting out. They're suprisingly affordable and very re-readable.
I remember reading some old 2000AD annuals when I was a little kid - local library had them. They also had some robo hunter, parts of the first story arc, but I hardly remember that apart from the design of the Robo Army units... strange what sticks with you eh?

Great stuff.  Takes me back to my days of youth. The VC's, Spinball Wars and the greatest of all, the ABC Warriors.
Once again, well done.

I have been thinking about trying a build based on the Tax office enforcer droids seen in Kev Walker's art for ABC Warriors: Khronikals of Khaos. Dunno how I'd do it, but I like the design... and back in the original era they drove around in a sot of tank/jeep hybrid thingee which I've been thinking about having a shot at.

Big Bird

Nice one PW, didn't realise this guy was from 2000AD, don't remember him, mind you it's been a long time since I read it.

PW love this build  JD was always one of my favs. Have you ever read Marshal Law?

Have not yet read Marshall Law. I only just got my first real job last year so I've only just gotten the money required to splurge on comics
Marhsall Law is on my list along with Judge Dredd, the rest of Strontium Dog and Rogue Trooper. So naturally I'm very happy about the advent of Rebellion and thier wholesale re-printing of the 2000AD archieves!

Some more porgress on the Parabot last night. He's more detailed than the Tommybot - I found out that large blank areas didn't look so great when combined to my painting style.

Very nice work on the figure!!!

Judge Dredd is my all time favourite comic strip. I even built a strato V from the Apocolypse War story. I was never a fan of super hero comics I preferred the bleak neo fascist future of Mega City one.

I can't wait for proper Judge Dredd movie. Not that travisty of a version done by Stallone.

I also liked Rogue Trooper. I have always plannned on building a Nort Blackmane tank.

AND NOW - IN GLORIOUS CGI!

I've just re-installed lightwave onto my new machine and I've been playing with a sort of robot ghetto/red light district sort of idea - kinda a run down area the robots go to get their kicks away from thier hume masters (yes, the idea is pure 2000AD!). Since I was doing this anyway, and I felt it'd be nifty to have some sort of soldiers or police around, I've built a CGI tommybot. It's not the same as the model, in fact the model was not even used for reference, but the flavour is the same.

Tapioca Wrangler,

Am I correct in interpreting from your description that you adapted your model to the CGI image?  If so, that is quite impressive!

I built a CGI virtual model of it if that's what you mean.
