Since getting my kit I've been doing some -- um --- research   ;D  The kit I have must have been released before the C1's were converted to C1K's because the instructions have some details on how to change the model to a K2 only. It says to remove the leading edge extension and change the fences. so I started looking for some 1/72 decals to do mine as a K2 because the decals in the kit are only for a C1.  They're not very comprehensive either and it's for a white/grey camo too.  I found some TwoSix 1/72 decals for the 90th Anniverary scheme but it doesn't say what version they are for, I've since found out they're for a C1K.  As I didn't know what a C1K was I did some searching and found out all about the different versions.  K2's were converted short fuselage surplus standard civilian VC-10's (BOAC), these apparently had extra fuel tanks added in the passenger area as did a number of Super VC-10's which were called K3's.  Some of the K2's had the Super VC-10 fin installed, they had a fuel tank in them.  Later some other Super VC-10's were acquired but did not have the extra tanks added, these were called K4's.  Again later the servicable C1's got converted to Tanker/Transport to become C1K's (no centerline hose equipment installed).  So I've found out that a C1K can be built straight out of the box that I have but you need to find decals or make them up yourself.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike
