Awesome idea, and execution, man. It calls to mind the jump jet in Mona Lisa Overdrive, with the mimetic polycarbonate skin.

I read in a chemistry journal about 5 years ago, about technology being developed whereby the paint on military aircraft would show any damage to the underlying metal/composite panel. Interesting concept, but very technical and very boring!
