No.

Make that I really like pigs.   One in particular.

Red ones.

But red ones wouldn't be Whiffer material.   That means Hayao's loyal Marco just might have to have a role somewhere outside the Mediterranean Sea, that is if Gina allows it.   Fio, of course, will have a definite role in engineering that perfect fuselage for a new mission.

PS:  Your  Porco Rosso trivia of the day-->   The Japanese version of the film has Porco (now Marco, of course) flying the Savoia in it's final form during the rolling of credits.   Fio had fixed it up with quite a turboprop and the little red sea plane passes a French Caravelle at altitude.     Disney cut that in the American version.     But between the post shoot-down version and the turbine equipped version, Fio had to help Porco with one more special something.   And that is where this thread begins.

Next hint:   I love monochrome.  Especially monochromes that come in Tamiya aerosol cans.  AS-8 to be specific.

Pigs eh? There was this girl I used to go skydiving with, and she... Oh, those kind of pigs, different story. Yeah, big pigs! mean pigs! PIGS WITH FRICKIN' LASER BEAMS COMING OUT OF THEIR HEADS!!!

Pre-requisite photos from this afternoon:

A Rufe?!?!??   As it turns out, Porco owned more than one airframe in his lifetime that good hearted guy that he was!    Both Disney and H. Miyazaki may not know that, but its true.  I swear!   ;D

Several years ago, Squadron was all but giving away the Nishikisuisen Rufe not long after their release for whatever reason.   The lines are pure and smooth, even a bit lithe so Porco ought to like the machine well enough.    For what I have in mind, a Tamiya Seiran would also be appropriate but might just have to be outside the timeline of the GB.

I thought this applied sticker from Studio Ghibli was interesting:

Both machines to make use of Porco's 'police for hire' lifestyle in the film and used by the US in Korea for off the record, good for the whole of society work.  Porco's gonna need a heavy coat!  It's cold there.
Known as Operation Porco Azzurro di Blu Marino
I like USN Gloss Sea Blue.

I also like the fact that Hayao Miyazaki takes a personal interest in the world of injection moulding styrene working first hand with both Fine Molds for the Porco Rosso S.21s and R3C-0's and with Tasca for the Bad Guy tank.   There may be other kits of which I'm unaware of his first hand participation but think it is very very cool.   For instance, one would not expect George Lucas to take a trip over to AMT or Revell/Monogram to give input or other American producers to waste their time with such minutia.  But with great fitting, high quality anime models available, the kits beg to be whiffed beyond their official whiffery.   ;D

[Edit 28Feb09 late evening]    Interiors of both machines painted.   Non standard colors of course.   Due to certain medical concerns, it has been 6 years since I've painted anything save for the Steampunk Steambouy which was painted outside in the breeze.   It felt GOOD!
[Edit 1Mar09 at 1:00 am]  Backstory started for Rufe.
[Edit 1Mar09]  Porco would get a Vindicator on floats    but I have neither enough spare floats nor enough time for the GB for that project.
[Edit 11Mar09]   Assembly Night was last night but was/am so dizzy I could/can hardly stand up.   Not a good night for glueing a rare kit together....
[Edit 20Mar09]   Interior paint touched up. Gotta love ultra-thinned Gunze Sanyo acrylics!

AAAAARGH I'm using the same kit  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: ROFL I like your backstory and cant wait to see what's next

So not a floatplane F-111 then???  Damn shame, but this'll have to do I suppose!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I like your thinking Mr. Mossie. I see retractable centerline floats, and the air intakes moved onto the tops of the wing. And swing-floats at the ends of the swing-wings
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

Like spats, Norwegian flags, or fried chicken legs, there is no such thing as too many float planes.   Be it S.21 or Rufe, have at it.
