And...is the blue and red in the roundel different; and if so, what are they?

I've been having some Ripple thoughts and would rather like to avoid decals *if* possible.

i think that the dark blue in the raseberry ripple scheme is actually oxford blue and not
roundel blue. but i may be wrong.

humbrol do oxford blue as a matt enamel #104 iirc.

Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry - sorry, that's Neapolitan!

Oxford Blue, Post Office Red and White I believe - now how does that get to be rapberry ripple?
Life's too short to apply all the stencils

This is one I always say & I'm not sure how true it is, but I think the rasberry ripple name was first coined with The Institute of Aviation Medicine's red & white Hunter or A&AEE's early scheme of white topsides, red cheatline & grey undersides.  Rings a bell from somewhere, but I might be wrong.

The old Model Decal Set No.79 lists the colours as BS381C 105 Gloss Oxford Blue, BSC381C 537 Gloss Signal Red & Gloss White.  They are close to the roundel colours but not quite the same.  IPMS Stockholm lists the Federal Standard equivalents for the blue & red as FS 15050 & FS 11350.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
