The thinking behind this was that the crews did not want to lose any of their offensive capability.
I had originally thought of hanging it on the centreline MER but there is not enough ground clearance.
So it was two of the crewchiefs, Bodgeit, and Scarrper, who came up with the idea of hanging it under the forward fuselage, offset to port so that it would not interfere with the nose mounted strike camera.
They also came up with the idea of having the two inner weapons pylons, canted outwards by five degrees so that the larger HARM missiles could be carried without getting in the way of the main u/c retraction sequence.

That's some outstanding conversion and paintwork there JayBee! The SEA camo was a perfect choice.
